Yes, this is possible. The scale is set at the factory so that the zero weight (e.g. 0.0 kg) is assumed when the scale is restarted.
However, you can deactivate this by calling up the options menu:
1. Click the M/PLU (K3) /ESC/M (KX) key and then using the arrow (down)
2. Go go to the menu item SCALE -> ENTER.
3. Click the arrow again (up or down) until you reach the option Zero -> ENTER.
4. You will see In-l-0 ->ENTER. Now you see YES and click the right arrow, NO ->ENTER appears. The message SAVE appears on your display.
5. Press ESC to return to the start.
