How can I calibrate my GRAM scale (platform, heavy load, checkweigher)?

If you want to recalibrate your scale, you can do this directly through your display.

The video shows you how to get into the CAL menu.

Prepare a reference or test weight (known weight) to place on the platform as soon as you have entered the value of the weight. Only when the weight is steady and centered on the platform, press ENTER to confirm.

Alternatively, this procedure can also be performed via the PC Xtrem software.

Strictly speaking, the video does not show a calibration, but an adjustment. In a calibration, for example, the linearity of the weight display is checked with the help of three reference weights. In an adjustment, we redefine the signals.

  1. Zero signal – plate unloaded
  2. Signal of the reference weight e.g. 100 kg, if the maximum load of the scale is also 100 kg.

With a higher weight you would damage the load cell, with a lower weight, the adjustment works, but the error in the range of the higher weight could then be higher.

Option 1) Via the K3 display

  • Required tools: Reference weight
  • Please use a reference weight of at least 1/3 of the total capacity of the scale. The reference weight may also be odd (e.g. 173 kg), but must not exceed the maximum capacity.

The weighing instrument must be adjusted to the locally prevailing gravity at the place of installation. This is done by specifying the GEO value. For use in the UK, the GEO value 22 must be selected.

Option 2) In the PC Xtrem software

Information: Please note that important settings can be changed with the password (possibly unintentionally and not recoverable). Please do not use this password to perform a factory reset or to change important non-recoverable values or settings.
